Farmer's Commercial Bank was established in 1960 as Sudan Commercial Bank—the first Sudanese Bank in Sudan. In 1998, it was merged with Farmer's Bank for Investment and Rural Development to become Farmer's Commercial Bank. It became one of the largest banking institutions in the country in terms of its broad and diversified shareholder base. The branches spread all over the capital and most of the states of Sudan.
